When does the academic year begin?
Our academic year typically begins in the last week of August, following an international school holiday schedule while observing Indonesian public holidays.

Which year groups are open for the academic year 2026-2027?
We will be welcoming pupils aged 3 to 7 years old, from Nursery (Early Years) to Year 3 (Junior School).
How do I know which year level my child will enter?
Year group placement follows the guidelines of the Indonesian Ministry of Education. If you are unsure, our Admissions team will be happy to advise.

Admissions Process
How do I apply and what is the typical admissions process?
Submit your online application, complete an age-appropriate assessment and join us for a family meeting. After review, our Admissions Committee will contact you with an offer.

How long does the application process take?
The process usually takes 2–3 weeks, depending on document completion and assessment arrangements.
What documents are required for the application?
Applicants should submit a birth certificate, a recent photograph, school reports (if applicable) and a vaccination record. Indonesian citizens should also provide a national ID card and a family card (Kartu Keluarga), while foreign citizens should include a passport, stay permit (KITAS/KITAP) and residence certificate (SKTT). Documents not yet available at the time of application may be provided later.
Can I apply from overseas?
Yes. We accept online applications from families living abroad.
Is there an application deadline?
We offer rolling admissions throughout the year, subject to availability.
Can I apply mid-year?
Mid-year transfers are welcome if space permits in the relevant year group.
Admissions Assessments & Requirements
What does the admissions assessment involve?
For Early Years and Junior School, our evaluation is age-appropriate, friendly and play-based. It may include:
- A short meeting with your child and our teachers
- A simple observation of interaction and communication
- A review of your child’s health and development information
This helps us understand your child and ensure we are the right fit for their learning journey.
Do you require English proficiency for admission?
No. Many young learners join us without prior English experience.
Do you provide support for non-native English speakers?
Yes. We provide English as an Additional Language (EAL) support to help pupils gain fluency and confidence.

Do you offer scholarships?
Scholarships are not available at this time, although we may introduce them in later phases.
Curriculum & Learning
What curriculum does the school follow?
We offer a rich, balanced learning experience based on the English Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the English National Curriculum for Junior School.
Our approach includes:

- Indonesian Studies
- Specialist classes in Music, Sports, Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia and Enrichment
This foundation prepares pupils for future IB pathways at senior level.
What languages will be taught?
- English is the main language of instruction.
- Bahasa Indonesia is taught to all pupils.
- Mandarin is also offered as an additional language.

What are the school hours?
School hours are typically 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., depending on the year group. Details will be confirmed in your welcome pack.
What are typical class sizes?
Class sizes range from 12–22 pupils, depending on the year level.

Do you accept pupils with diverse learning needs?
We are a welcoming and inclusive school, and we consider each child’s individual needs carefully. If your child requires additional support, please share relevant information with our Admissions team, who will work with our academic and pastoral staff to determine how we can best support their learning journey.
Will there be a school uniform?
Yes. Pupils will wear the official Wellington College Independent School Jakarta uniform. Full details will be announced closer to the school opening.
Do you provide transportation?
A school bus service will be available for selected routes. Information on routes and fees will be shared closer to the school’s opening
