Performing Arts LAMDA — Drama & Performance | Year 1 - 5

LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) gives pupils opportunities to develop their confidence as speakers and performers. Through drama, interpretation and performance, pupils strengthen their communication, self-expression and ability to engage an audience.

The programme can lead towards internationally recognised LAMDA examinations, encouraging pupils to develop both vocal and physical confidence as they progress.

Early Years — Chinese Rhymes & Stories

Young children discover Chinese through nursery rhymes, traditional stories and classical poetry brought to life through singing, movement, storytelling, pictures and play.

Primary — Chinese Language & Culture

Older pupils experience Chinese through conversation, stories, cultural discovery and hands-on activities, creating a natural connection between language and culture.

Music Music Ensemble | Reception - Year 2 Choir | Year 3 - 5

Both create opportunities for pupils to share their learning through school performances, celebrations and events.

Music Ensemble introduces younger pupils to rhythm, melody, listening and collaborative performance. Through making music together, pupils develop their individual musical abilities while learning to listen, respond and perform as part of an ensemble.

Choir develops vocal technique, musical expression and confidence through singing together. Pupils learn to use their voices effectively, listen to one another and perform as a group, with opportunities to share their learning through school performances, celebrations and events.

Sport Football & Children’s Athletics | Reception - Year 1 & Year 2 - 4

Our sporting CCAs combine skill development with the enjoyment of being active.

Football develops skills including dribbling, passing, shooting and movement alongside teamwork, decision making, fair play and resilience.

Children’s Athletics develops fundamental movement through running, jumping, throwing and playful challenges, helping pupils build coordination, balance, agility, strength and confidence.

Reading Beginners Phonics — Read Write Inc. | Reception - Year 1

Wellington College Independent School Jakarta is the only school in Indonesia registered to use Read Write Inc, bringing this established British approach to early reading to our pupils.

Through carefully structured sounds, stories and partner activities, children develop confident, fluent reading and early writing skills, extending the same approach used in their classroom learning.

English Skill English Explorer | Year 7-9

An interactive CCA designed to build confidence and strengthen English skills through games, challenges, conversations and creative activities. Pupils develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing while expanding vocabulary and using English for real-life purposes.
