Wellington College Independent School Jakarta Welcomes Families at Inaugural Family Day

Wellington College Independent School Jakarta (WCIJ) welcomed a select group of families and partners to its school site in BSD City on 29 March 2026, marking the school’s first Family Day ahead of its official opening.

The gathering brought together 27 families, alongside representatives from Sinar Mas Land, the British Embassy Jakarta, and Tatler, reflecting a shared interest in the school’s development and its place within the wider community.

As an early introduction to WCIJ, the event offered families a first experience of the school’s approach to learning and care. Children took part in guided activities, while parents engaged in conversations with the school’s leadership team and were invited to explore the campus as it nears completion.

These interactions provided an opportunity for families to develop a clearer understanding of the school’s educational philosophy, one that places equal emphasis on academic foundations, character development, and a strong sense of belonging from the earliest years.

The Family Day also introduced elements of the Wellington House system, offering a glimpse into how community and identity will be fostered across the school.

As WCIJ prepares to open its doors, the event marked an important first step in building relationships with families and establishing a considered, close-knit school community.
