Wellbeing Philosophy
Wellington College views wellbeing as a holistic concept focused on developing their students’ mental, physical, and emotional health. Our Wellbeing program is based on Virtue Ethics, believing that humans can develop skills and habits to live well and pursue ‘the good’ for themselves and others.
Pastoral Care
Wellington College Independent School Jakarta strive to provide both proactive and reactive support for children with a holistic approach, developing every aspect of the child. Each class teacher take responsibility the overall pastoral care of every student, aiming to create a ‘home away from home,’ and is supported by a range of experts in our Learning Support Team. We believe in working closely with parents and welcome our community to become involved in school life. We run a range of ‘Parents as Partners’ workshops and seminars throughout the academic year to support you through those crucial moments in your child’s development.
Self-care
Great Wellbeing starts with self-care. We aim to encourage children to develop a high level of independence and autonomy, starting with managing their own belonging and their own schedule. We also support them to apply a range of emotional self-care techniques, focusing on the important skills of self-regulation and emotional awareness.

Safeguarding is central to all decisions, and the entire community is committed to upholding the school’s values, which are fundamental to fostering a positive safeguarding culture.
This commitment is supported by comprehensive child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff members are fully aware of the importance of this commitment and participate in annual safeguarding training. Additionally, they are required to read and sign the School’s Safeguarding Policy and Staff Code of Conduct each year. The school follows the International Task Force on Child Protection (ITFCP) recommendations for its recruitment practices, ensuring that all prospective staff undergo thorough background checks before being hired.
